Rosie Hamlyn

Rosie is a Partner in the Court of Protection team and a Director of the Thomson Snell & Passmore Trust Corporation. She has over 12 years of experience in Court of Protection and deputyship work, acting on behalf of vulnerable clients in relation to their property and financial affairs.

Rosie acts as professional deputy with particular expertise in complex brain injury. As deputy, she manages high value personal injury and clinical negligence awards on behalf of clients who have survived brain injury. She works closely and collaboratively with families and professionals to achieve outcomes for her clients which are consistent with their best interests.

Rosie also acts in relation to discrete matters including applications for the appointment of lay deputies; statutory will applications; and lifetime gift applications. She is instructed to provide expert witness evidence to assist with personal injury and litigation claims.

Rosie is a co-author for the Court of Protection LexisNexis Practice Notes and is an expert on the LexisNexis Q&A panel, answering queries from professionals about a variety of Court of Protection matters.

Education

Rosie attended University of Southampton where she obtained an Honours Degree in History. Rosie also gained her Graduate Diploma in Law at The College of Law, Guildford, achieving a commendation and completed the Legal Practice Course at The College of Law, Guildford, achieving a distinction. She was admitted as a solicitor in 2011.
