Accountants and tax specialists, Creaseys Group Limited, has been sold to Evelyn Partners, a leading wealth management and professional services group. Law firm Thomson Snell & Passmore advised Creaseys on the transaction.
This acquisition is part of Evelyn Partners’ ongoing strategy to make selective acquisitions of strong performing firms with complementary expertise in order to strengthen its regional presence and enhance its organic growth.
With £55.6 billion of assets under management (as at 30 September 2023), Evelyn Partners ranks as one of the largest UK wealth managers by client assets and is also the fifth largest accountancy firm ranked by fee income.
Creaseys was established over 150 years ago and offers a range of assurance, advisory and tax services to both businesses and individuals, with a particular expertise in advising Private Equity Executives on their tax affairs.
Jason Varney, Corporate / M&A Partner at Thomson Snell & Passmore led the legal team on the sale of Creaseys. He was supported by Joseph Hartland and Luke Guinan in the Corporate team.
Due to the nature of the transaction, the sell-side deal team included Ben Stepney advising on Employment and Nitzan Cohen advising on Corporate Tax. Caroline Cohen advised on the Real Estate aspects of the deal.
Evelyn Partners was advised on the buy side by national law firm Shoosmiths LLP.
