Sale of treasured family farm

Penelope Edgar acted on the sale of three lots of former agricultural land. The sale was both complex and sensitive as the family had grown up on the land and were sad to lose it.

Penelope Edgar acted for family trustees and Mrs M on the sale of former agricultural land in Kent. The land included a former Oast which had been converted. It turned out that planning permission had not been complied with. Penelope had to go through all of the original paperwork in order to reassure the buyers. Mrs M very sadly died during the transaction but Penelope’s sensitive manner enabled her to keep the process moving through the executors. Dealing with a large number of trustees and executors required a high level of professionalism. She has also had to deal very sensitively with the family, who grew up on the farm and were sad to see it go.
